As I was quoted in the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, following Chancellor Browns' extraordinary volte face, I am quite relieved that this element of Wine as a SIPP investment seems to have been removed.
My fear was that as the wine trade is completely unregulated, some unscrupulous merchants would be recommending wines with little or no investment potential, and/or at over inflated prices. Wine is a fun investment and drinking some of it has to be a major reason for doing it. After all prices go up when scarcity starts to occur, and we should all be doing our bit to create a gap in the cellar for the next good vintage! {mosgoogle}
