The Earl of Erroll and Christopher Burr In this set of three podcasts, Christopher Burr, MW and the Earl of Erroll get down to the serious business of a comparative tasting!
First up are the whites, the Chardonnay's: a 1996 Kistler from America and a Les Purcelles, Puligny Montrachet.
These two wines are both noted for their distinction but which one will ultimately claim the prize of a Master of Wine's affectionate palate?
In part 2, the whites step aside to make way for some rather fine and interesting Pinot Noir. Can the New Zealand sibling keep up with his more traditional big brother from Burgundy?
The wines tasted were: The Morey-St-Denis from Burgundy and Blackridge from Central Otago.
In part 3 as the mood mellows and the vintages intensify, Christopher brings forth the final course of Chateau Gruaud Larose, 1985 and a Penfolds Bin 707, 1997.
This final section hears both Christopher and Merlin engaging in both serious wine discussion and anecdotal discourse. Please feel free to send us in any queries that you may have about anything discussed in the podcast and the relevant person will be asked to reply to you!
