Calvini Sanremo, Pigato , Riviera Ligure Di Ponente DOC 2019

A great find made from a winery in the Sanremo district. Very small production due to the steep terraces that drop down to the coastlines around the famous riviera town of Sanremo. Wines of quality in this area are less easy to find but Pigato is a grape variety of high quality that suits the Ligurian gastronomy very well. Pigato is perfect with the local seafood or myriad variations of Ligurian pesto or other green vegetable themes.

Tasting Note:

A nice subtle mix of herbaceous with citrus fruits and a slight salinity, set against a very pleasing backbone of fresh acidity. One more glass is never enough!
